Richply RP-V 1-Step MDO (Medium Density Overlay) is an economy concrete-form MDO. As the product name implies, RP-V is a 5-ply panel constructed using only 100% high quality Douglas Fir veneers. Cost savings are achieved with the 5-layer panel construction as well as the use of a lower resin-content matte MDO paper overlay. RP-V still offers the strength, stiffness, and impact resistance of an all Douglas Fir panel but it is specifically designed for those jobs requiring fewer reuses and lower expected panel service life.

The matte MDO paper overlay provides a hard densified surface that delivers a non-architectural matte finish that is cleaner and more uniform in colour compared to non-overlaid panels. RP-V’s 1-Step construction means some of the underlying face veneer grain patterns and wood patches may telegraph through the MDO overlay onto the concrete surface.

Richply RP-V is manufactured according to CSA-0121 Douglas Fir Plywood and US Voluntary Product Standard PS-1 to meet or exceed the requirements for COFIFORM SP PLUS and STRUCTURAL-1 panel ratings.

Applications:

Richply RP-V is widely used in both vertical and horizontal formwork applications. RP-V is an economy concrete form MDO specifically designed for reliable performance for those jobs requiring less reuse. RP-V is suitable for use in retaining walls, gang forms, tables, pans and other site built formwork. RP-V is not recommended for some handset modular slab systems as RP-V panels must be securely fastened to support beams and require more than simple corner nailing.

Features and Benefits:

• Durability – RP-V provides resistance to alkalinity and abrasion from the concrete mix and typically give up to 4-6 reuses; subject to application, service conditions, and jobsite care and handling practices.
• Matte Overlay – RP-V comes standard with an opaque matte MDO paper that may help reduce or mask grain/patch transfer to the concrete surface earlier the panels’ service life.
• Factory Release Treated – RP-V is factory treated with a chemically active form release agent (Nox-Crete®). Richply recommends each panel also be coated with a quality chemically active release agent prior to the first, and each subsequent reuse. Richply discourages the use of diesel fuel or motor oil as these will reduce the expected service life of the panels.
• Factory Edge-Sealed – RP-V is factory edge-sealed for highly alkaline wet conditions. Cut or exposed edges should be resealed to prevent moisture ingress and swelling.
