Industrial Millwright
Industrial Millwrights in the Maintenance Department primary focus is to ensure that all of the machines and equipment are operational at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut and install hangers using hand tools and ladders.
- Perform arc welding, MIG welding, TIG welding and oxyacetylene cutting.
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
- Install handrails and ladders.
- Repair pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
- Install supports for pipe and blowers.
- Perform all welding repairs using arc and mig.
- Install air blowers to increase air conveyance of products.
- Replace electrical motors, change gears, pulleys, and belts.
- Operate the rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and part.
- Use of torches, limit welding, and use of different saws for cutting metals.
- Work with outside vendors and contractors for repairs and projects.
- Install and remove bearings, head and tail pulleys, motors, gearboxes, and pumps.
- Assist millwrights and electricians when necessary.
- Maintain machinery and assist millwrights with rebuilding and maintaining rotating and reciprocating equipment.
- Work on CNC, break press and use of a plasma torch.
- Assist in plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Perform welding and cutting processes
- Configure layout of grain bins, such as placement of unloading augers, side draws, and doors.
- Repair aluminum castings
- Assist PLC programmers with program requirements and troubleshooting maintenance decisions to prevent and reduce downtime.
- Program base settings in a PLC control CNC and verify base settings function prior to loading program to manufacture parts.
Requirements:
- Formal education as a Millwright from an accredited post-secondary institution
- At least 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment
- Skilled in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of equipment and components
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work independently and in teams
